Why StationPlaylist stations need voice tracking

Most SPL stations run unhosted for the majority of the week. Overnights, weekends, the hours between shows: the music keeps playing, but nobody says anything. Listeners hear a jukebox, not a radio station.

The traditional fix is to hire voice trackers. That means paying somebody to sit down every day, listen to intros, record links, and upload them — for every hour you want covered. It works, but it does not scale to 24/7, and it stops the day that person is unavailable.

The other fix is a text-to-speech plugin reading canned liners. That scales, but it sounds like what it is: a robot with no idea what just played.

How RadioAIVT plugs into StationPlaylist

The integration is native, not a workaround. A small agent runs on the machine alongside StationPlaylist Studio or Creator. Nothing changes in the way you build your log.

1. SPL exports the M3U. Your playlist is written out exactly as it always was. No change to your workflow, no new scheduling rules to learn.
2. The engine reads the hour. Artists, titles, genre, tempo, song order, intro lengths and ramp timings — the whole hour is analysed before a single word is written.
3. A script is written for every break. Not a liner pulled from a list: a fresh, contextual link that knows what just ended and what is coming next.
4. The voice is rendered and processed. The script is spoken by your chosen presenter voice, then run through SOUND4 Big Voice.CL broadcast processing — the same treatment a real voice would get in a real studio.
5. The MP3 lands in your SPL voice track folder. Named and timed so StationPlaylist picks it up and airs it at the scheduled slot. You do nothing.

What it actually says on air

A voice track is only as good as what it has to talk about. RadioAIVT builds every break from real material:

• The music itself — what just played, what is next, why the two go together.
• Artist stories — facts and anecdotes about the artists in your rotation, dropped in naturally while the track is on.
• Concert dates — upcoming tours for artists you are actually playing.
• Today in history — the date's anniversaries, woven into transitions.
• Weather — global on Standard plans, local and tailored on Premium.
• Local news — from Standard Plus upwards, in your station's language.

On Premium plans, every script then passes through a second editorial layer that rewrites it the way a host actually speaks: varied openings, natural rhythm, the occasional reaction. The facts stay untouched — only the telling changes.

Intro and ramp timing

This is where most automated voice solutions fall apart. A voice track that starts too late talks over the vocal. One that starts too early leaves a hole. RadioAIVT detects the intro length of each song and places the voice precisely over the instrumental ramp, the way a presenter would if they were sitting there.

Your voices, or ours

You can pick from more than twenty built-in presenter voices, assign a different one to each show or daypart, and name your shows whatever you like. Or you can clone your own authorised talent: ten seconds of clean speech is enough for an Instant Clone, and that voice then appears in your Dashboard alongside the standard ones, ready to be scheduled.

Setup

Installation is done by you, through a guided wizard: station name, slogan, format, presenters, shows and time slots. It takes minutes, and there are written guides at every step. After that the system runs on its own — you only open the Dashboard when you want to change something.

Common questions

Does it replace my live shows?

No. It fills the hours nobody is presenting. Your live talent stays exactly where it is — RadioAIVT covers everything around it.

Will it clash with my existing voice tracks?

No. It writes to the SPL voice track folder for the hours you have configured, and leaves the rest alone.

What if a break is wrong?

Every voice track can be redone in one click from your Review page, where you see the audio and the script side by side. Fifty single-track redos are included every month, on every plan.
